The particular areas at risk are exposed areas of the coast around Scarborough, particularly low lying paths around Scarborough North Bay promenade.     The flood alert for the River Seven catchment has been issued. River levels have risen in this area as a result of rainfall overnight on Friday 26th November 2021. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected during Saturday 27th November 2021. Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.     Tides along the River Esk estuary are expected to be high as a result of the effects from Storm Arwen and rainfall overnight on the Esk catchment during Saturday 27th November between 08:30 and 13:30. Areas most at risk include Low lying land in the Esk Valley, particularly around Briggswath, Ruswarp and some minor roads. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Warning services for areas at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea are provided by the Environment Agency (EA) for England, Natural Resources Wales (NRW) for Wales and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

BBC Weather works closely with its partners to raise awareness of weather events affecting Northern Ireland which may result in flooding. Specific flood warnings, however, are not currently issued for Northern Ireland.
